Large Vintage Mesh Strainer with Wood Handle

This large mesh strainer can accommodate any big pot or bowl. The handle is varnished and has a hanging hook. Size - length: 16 inches without hook; diameter: 8½ inches. Condition: cross bands have some rust; varnish has some flaking; ferrule is tight but has some rust (see pic #6); hanging hook needs to be inserted all the way (see pic #5). There are no holes in the mesh. Circa 1920's. Add this to a primitive collection - or use it as it was intended.
