Villa Lowestoft Miniature Crested Ware Vase St. Margaret of Scotland
This souvenir crested ware vase is made of fine porcelain and is in the shape of a Roman urn found at York. The crest is for Lowestoft. It depicts St. Margaret of Scotland, the town's patron saint, holding a crown over a Tudor Rose against a blue shield. Printed in the circular border is "Soffoche/ Villa Lowistoft" and underneath the crest is "Arms of Lowestoft". The vase is decorated on one side only. The gold on the rim is worn, otherwise this piece is in excellent condition. Height: 2 1/16 inches; diameter: 1 5/8 inches without handles. Crested ware was produced from the 1880's through 1939. This piece does not have a backstamp (maker mark).
