Art Deco Blue Luster Box with Orange and Yellow Puppies Made in Germany

This ceramic box featuring six pups on the lid is from the Art Deco period (1930's). The doggies form the "knob" to lift the lid. The bottom half of the box is embossed in a 'basket' pattern with a large 3-dimensional bow. The box is done in a blue luster glaze; the dogs are yellow & orange with black details. The box's interior is glazed white. Diameter: 3½” (8.9 cm); height: 3¼” (8.3 cm). There is a small (4.5mm), shallow chip on the inside rim of the box. This does not show from the outside, and is quite hard to see when the lid is off. This damage is reflected in our price. Marked, “Germany /7838:2.” Circa 1930's.
